The World Heritage region Anhalt-Dessau-Wittenberg, with its multitude of small and large cities, has a lot to offer, and not only for adults. There are also plenty of cultural destinations for families with children. Thanks to child-friendly museums and exhibitions, little visitors will never get bored. Whether your children are more interested in science or history, there are many fun offers around for them to get active or just marvel at the displays. These museums for children are certainly worth a trip.
This museum commemorates what was once the second largest film stock factory in the world, producing AGFA/ORWO stock. The museum also possesses the largest public camera collection in Saxony-Anhalt.
The “Schiffer- und Heimatmuseum,” a museum dealing with the history of the town and its involvement in inland navigation, is an integral part of Aken, offering special exhibitions, museum/monument days and complementary events during the town’s festivals.
This museum in the district of Zahna showcases a 600-year-old Flemish farmhouse with an area of 1,800 m² and an original furnished apartment from 1920.

Of the former 3-winged residence of the noble house of Anhalt-Zerbst, only the eastern wing still exists. It houses exhibitions and host events in the summer. Here, visitors can immerse themselves in the castle's history.
The former residential castle of the princes and later dukes of Anhalt-Bernburg rises on a high sandstone rock on the eastern bank of the Saale. A “civitas brandanburg” was first mentioned in a deed of gift from Otto I dated July 29, 961.

The Waldhaus am Bergwitzsee is a direct neighbor of Lake Bergwitz and a magnet in the heath for all friends of nature, offering valuable suggestions and information about the Düben Heath Nature Park. Inside, an exhibition details various aspects of then local nature and also the history of the people of the region.
Count Hoyer von Falkenstein commissioned Eike von Repgow, probably born in Reppichau, to write what would become the first medieval law book (the “Sachsenspiegel”) in the early 13th century.
On the western edge of Düben Heath, near Lake Goitzsche, the neighboring villages of Friedersdorf and Mühlbeck joined forces in 1997 to become Germany’s first book village.
