Johannes Bugenhagen (1493 - 1555)

Johannes Bugenhagen was the first Protestant pastor, his parish church was the Stadtkirche St. Marien. As pastor of Wittenberg, he is depicted on the Reformation altar in the town church. He married Martin and Katharina Luther and baptised their children.
Right next to the town church is the Bugenhagenhaus, the first Protestant vicarage in the world.
