Asisi-Panorama LUTHER 1517

"Luther 1517" makes the Reformation a sensory experience. The 360° panorama by artist Yadegar Asisi reveals the complexity of the developments in Wittenberg during the first half of the 16th century, showing well-known events as well as the lives of ordinary townspeople, of scholars, and of the upper crust. The panorama thus makes the causes, backgrounds and effects of the Reformation understandable. Visitors experience the panorama in a day-night rhythm, embedded in a specially composed accompanying music.

Over the past 13 years, artist Yadegar Asisi re-popularized the tradition of giant panoramas, dating back to the 19th century. He currently has five panoramas on display, dealing with historical themes such as the Berlin Wall. In addition, Asisi created depictions of fascinating natural areas such as the Himalayas.
