The traditional pottery in Lubast

  • Johann Gottfried Galle (1812-1910) - Astronom : entdeckte den Planeten Neptun, nachdem er die Koordinaten von einem französischen Wissenchaftler per Brief bekam (siehe dazu Radiser Planetenweg)
  • Wilhelm Traugott Krug (1770-1842) - Philosoph: war u.a. Nachfolger Kants in Königsberg, Reformrektor an der Universität Leipzig, späterer Ehrenbürger der Stadt Leipzig
  • Gertraud Möhwald (1929-2002) - Kulturschaffende (Radis): laut Fachbüchern, die beste Keramikerin der DDR
  • Johann Ephraim Hübner (1713-1781) - Orgelbauer: hat die mechanisch-pneumatische Orgel in Radis gebaut, welche noch heut gespielt wird
  • Richard Bartmuß  (1859-1910) - Komponist und Organist (Schleesen) : erhielt den Hoforganistentitel und weitere Ehrungen wie den Titel "Königlicher Musikdirigent", den "Orden für Wissenschaft und Kunst" sowie die Ernennung zum "Königlichen Professor für Musik"

Lake Bergwitz

Lake Bergwitz is located south of Wittenberg on the edge of the Düben Heath. As early as the 1960s, the former open pit mine Roberts Hoffnung” (Roberts Hope) became an idyllic lake. Sailors, surfers, stand up paddlers and other fans of activities on the water have fun on about 180 hectares of water.

Töpferei Lubast

Visit to the oldest pottery in the region in Lubast

Lubasts current show pottery dates back to 1874. It is the oldest pottery in the region and even the former potters building still exists.

Guided tours and visits are possible.
