The British sculptor Tony Cragg (actually Sir Anthony Cragg CBE) is one of the most important contemporary artists. In summer 2025, the Picture Gallery will be showing an exhibition of his works in the Orangery and in Georgium Park and Palace as the highlight of the year.

The exhibition is being prepared in cooperation with the Cragg Foundation and the Evangelical Church of Anhalt and is funded by the state of Saxony-Anhalt.

“Once in Arcadia and back” in Georgium Park  

Prince Franz was accompanied by his younger brother Johann Georg on some of his educational journeys, which took him to Italy, France, Holland and England. Together with the architect Erdmannsdorff, he translated his impressions and experiences into the Georgium. On the walk through the Georgengarten, you can follow this grand tour. Embedded in the extensive, idyllic landscape garden, you will see Greek temples, Roman ruins, Celtic burial mounds and Egyptian sphinxes.
