Annaburg Porcelain Museum
Porcelain production is a Saxony-Anhalt speciality. The Porzellaneum comprises a porcelain museum, a painting studio, and a porcelain shop with a café.
Since May 2016, the Porzellaneum Annaburg is once again a venue for regular events. The “Musical Sunday” (Musikalischer Sonntagskaffee) and the “Annaburg Story Breakfast” (Annaburger Geschichtenfrühstück) have become permanent fixtures of great popularity. As a result, the interest in both the café and the painting school was rekindled. Because of the insolvency of the Porzellan GmbH, these institutions had been all but forgotten.
The aim of the Förderverein Annaburger Porzellaneum e.V. is to strengthen the region by making and receiving offers. But above all, the painting school, the café, the lecture room and the club store are to be preserved while the existing porcelain museum is to be expanded. Thematic city tours with castle ghost Friederike-Auguste and her friends are a definite highlight. Originally conceived as an add-on for groups booking painting lessons, these tours featuring cloaked guides have become so popular that they are now an independent offer.
The store offers an extensive selection of porcelain products; upon request, modifications for special occasions are possible. Those who prefer to get creative themselves should check out the painting school, alone or in a group. Its classes are also great for children’s birthdays.
Services included in the »WelterbeCard:
1 free painting lesson and 1 free entrance to the porcelain exhibition
