Lindau/Zerbst: circular trail  

This hiking trail (5 km) through forests, fields and meadows impresses with natural surfaces, some of which are easy to walk or cycle on.

Not far from Lindau in Anhalt-Bitterfeld, the ruin of a lowland castle sits near the river Nuthe on a sandy hill extending into a former swamp area.
A branch of the Zerbst/Anhalt registry office with a separate room for weddings moved into the keep with its characteristic conical dome, constructed in 1863.
To explore the castle, visitors need to contact the local tourist association (Heimat- und Verkehrsverein) and make appointments for the annual Monument Day (Tag des offenen Denkmals) or Whitmonday.

Special features along the route and in the surrounding area:
Visitors can explore a late Romanesque fieldstone church, a medieval castle, da meadow awash with fragrant lily-of-the-valley (in spring), the devil’s stone (200,000 years old), the Deetzer pond (fish farm, 45 ha, annual fishing festival in October), the modern church windows of Kerchau, die the alpacas of Zernitz and the Buhlendorf granary.
