Paul Gerhardt Chapel
Erected between 1830 and 1844, the classicist Paul Gerhardt Chapel honors the Protestant hymn writer Paul Gerhardt (1607-1676), a son of Gräfenhainchen.
Elongated muntin windows are among the particular features of the chapel’s outside, while four slender columns characterize the interior. Today, this memorial site houses a Paul Gerhardt library and an extensive permanent exhibition on the poet’s life and work. The pleasant ambience of the chapel also provides a special background for changing exhibitions in the gallery and for cultural events
