Water level tower at Lake Goitzsche
Landmark and observation tower
The Pegelturm floats on the Lake Goitzsche and is only accessible via a pontoon bridge, sinking and rising with the water level. Two counter-rotating spiral staircases allow visitors to ascend and descend the tower. It offers a perfect 360°-view of Lake Goitzsee and of the towns of Friedersdorf, Bitterfeld, Mühlbeck and Pouch. On a clear day, one can even see Leipzig.
