Wulfen megalithic tomb
A neolithic megalithic tomb
In Wulfen, visitors will find a 3.60 meter long passage tomb just off the street “Hoher Berg”. Set on a hill above the Elbe valley, it was certainly a prominent feature at the time of its construction. The place, commonly regarded as the most important such prehistoric site in Anhalt, was opened as early as 1784 and examined in 1912. Its relatively high tomb has three capstones and a passage. The grave goods - flints, vessels and urns - are in the Köthen city museum.
Coming from Köthen (Anhalt), visitors turn left into the street “Hoher Berg” shortly after the city limit sign “Wulfen”. Keeping to the right, one can’t miss the passage tomb.
