Events on 7 June 2026 in the World Heritage Region

On UNESCO World Heritage Day, June 7, 2026, numerous events will once again take place in the Anhalt-Dessau-Wittenberg World Heritage Region.

You can take part in many interesting events in Dessau-Roßlau, Lutherstadt Wittenberg, the Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Kingdom, and the Middle Elbe Biosphere Reserve.

This year’s theme for the day of action is: Together for Peace and Understanding.

World Heritage Line 304: Free Ride

Travel comfortably and enjoyably to the UNESCO World Heritage sites in the World Heritage Region.

On June 7, 2026, in collaboration with the Wittenberg District and Vetter GmbH, we are offering free bus rides on the World Heritage Line 304 between Wittenberg – Wörlitz – Dessau (and back)!

    UNESCO World Heritage Day—and also the 500th birthday of Johannes “Hänschen” Luther, the son of Martin Luther and Katharina von Bora: Follow in his footsteps on this theatrical guided tour and experience his story up close and in a vivid way. Free of charge. Donations appreciated

Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Kingdom

  • 2:00 p.m. | Wörlitz Palace, Oranienbaum Palace, Luisium Palace, Mosigkau Palace
    Family Tour – Visitors of all ages embark on an exciting journey through time, learning about the palaces and their former residents. Price: €9 per person; children under 16 accompanied by an adult are free
     
  • 2:00 p.m. | Wörlitz Park, meeting point: Gothic House 
    Guided backpacking tour – Young guests aged 4 to 9 are invited to explore a particularly fascinating part of the Wörlitz grounds: Schoch’s Garden. Free of charge

Bauhaus, Dessau-Roßlau

Dessau-Roßlau and the Bauhaus Buildings

  • 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. | 3 public tours of Bauhaus buildings
    11 a.m. at the Bauhaus Building (€7 per person), 12:30 p.m. at the Masters’ Houses (€7 per person), 3 p.m. at the Törten Housing Estate (€9 per person)
     
  • 2:00–5:00 p.m. | 3 public curator-led tours
    of the anniversary exhibitions, offering special insights and in-depth perspectives on the exhibition Glass | Concrete | Metal. The tours cost €7 and start at 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m.

Accompanying Program for the World Heritage Line 304 on June 7, 2026

On June 7, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., you can ride the World Heritage Line 304 for free between the World Heritage sites in Dessau-Roßlau, Wörlitz, and Wittenberg. We are also offering an accompanying program on the World Heritage Line 304 buses.

This includes live music with Jan von Suppengrün and Ramona cover singer. Interesting and entertaining insights will be provided by Katja Köhler as Katharina von Bora, Astrid Räuchle as Barbara Cranach, and tour guide Martina Wormuth.
