Garden Kingdom Festival 2026
On the second weekend in August, the Garden Kingdom Festival is dedicated entirely to Leopold III Friedrich Franz of Anhalt-Dessau, the founder of the Dessau-Wörlitz ‘Garden Kingdom’, who was born on 10 August 1740.
On 8 and 9 August 2026, enjoy a varied programme of events and activities from Dessau to Wörlitz and discover the UNESCO World Heritage Site in all its diversity.
A special bonus: on Sunday, 9 August 2026, you can travel on the Dessau-Wörlitz Railway free of charge, including the entertainment programme.

Programme of events and free journeys on the Dessau-Wörlitz Railway
On 9 August, you can travel free of charge on the Dessau–Wörlitz Railway between Dessau and Wörlitz (and vice versa). A varied programme of entertainment awaits you both during the journey and at your destinations.
Itinerary from Dessau Central Station (Platform 1)
- With tour guide Martina Wormuth, you’ll discover fascinating facts and amusing anecdotes about the Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Realm, accompanied by music from Ramona, a cover singer:
- 10.05 am, arriving at Wörlitz station at 10.40 am

- 4.05 pm, arriving at Wörlitz station at 4.40 pm.
